Welcome to the column to go to when you’re a broke, tired college student in a dorm. With today’s article, I’m going to go over what you’re going to do if you bought a whole sack of potatoes and didn’t think it through for the last article. Luckily, potatoes are super versatile, even with limited options and ingredients.

1. Roast Them- Cut them up into bite sized cubes, use a tablespoon of oil per potato, rub it in, and then season (I personally love Lawry’s Seasoned Salt for this.) Bake them in an oven preheated 350F until fork tender, as time will heavily vary based off of how thick you cut them.

2. Bake Them- Yes, a whole baked potato. Wash and dry the potato in the sink, and then stab it all over with a fork. Get your class frustration out on it early. Then, massage in the oil, salt, and bake unwrapped for 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 425F. Flip, and bake for another 25 minutes. Take them out, and if you can squeeze them with a paper towel and feel the insides move, they’re done. Let them cool, and massage again without breaking the skin. After that, cut them open and dress them however you like.

3. Mash Them- Cut up your potato, and then put it into boiling water, preferably with some broth base in it. Once the potato is fork tender, drain, butter your pan, then put your potato bits back in the pan and put in some milk and cream, then mash and spice.

4. Fry Them- Cut your potato into thinner slices, and preheat some oil in a pan. Fry them, and then immediately salt
