Cesar Gracia, ETSU’s chief of police and director of Public Safety, has been named as a finalist for Campus Safety Director of the year.
“Campus Safety Magazine” awards this national recognition annually. Gracia is thankful for nomination and recognizes he didn’t do it alone.
“This award was a complete team effort,” he said. “This prestigious nomination wouldn’t have been possible without their sacrifice and dedication to our community policing initiative. It is such an honor to have myself, our department and our university being recognized for our dedication to keeping our campus safe.”
Gracia served as a dean of campus safety and chief of police at Lincoln Memorial University before starting at ETSU in late 2020.
He is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Training Academy, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in liberal studies with a concentration in criminal justice, both from ETSU.
The winner of the award will be announced at the organization’s conference in Las Vegas in July.
