The first three episodes of Amazon Prime’s new television miniseries “Daisy Jones & The Six” premiered on March 3, 2023, with widespread acclaim. Based on a novel of the same name written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the fictional series follows the story of a rock band’s rise to fame in 1970s Los Angeles.

Even if you haven’t read the book prior to watching the show, viewers can still appreciate the evocative storyline that captures the essence of rock and roll during its peak era, along with the costumes and aesthetic that pay homage to ’70s culture. To put it plain and simple, “Daisy Jones & The Six” is fun to watch.

Loosely based on the true story and scandals surrounding the infamous American rock band Fleetwood Mac, “Daisy Jones & The Six” is presented as a documentary-style retelling of the band’s history. However, we also get flashback scenes with younger versions of the actors that allow viewers to be fully immersed in the story as it plays out.

Unsurprisingly, a highlight of this show is the music itself. The star-studded cast, including Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough in the role of Daisy Jones, were all required to learn how to sing and play musical instruments for their roles.

As a result, an actual album titled “Aurora” was released and is now available on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.

The album itself makes the series even more interactive for viewers. Now we get to watch the inspiration and backstory behind these songs unfold, as the band rises to fame and records their first and only album together.

Whether you’re a fan of the book, 1970s rock culture or just good television—”Daisy Jones & The Six” is a show you don’t want to miss. The series will consist of ten episodes total, with the first three episodes currently available to stream on Amazon Prime.
