Maddi Miller worked for the East Tennessean from 2018 to 2022. During her time with the publication, she served as advertising manager, photographer and multimedia editor.

Miller graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry and a minor in microbiology.

She works for SynergyLabs in Hildebran, N.C., as a Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist. Miller oversees the creates and review batch records, trains employees on new policies, writing exceptions when needed and maintains recipe sheets for each product the company makes. SynergyLabs makes pet cosmetics and nutritional supplements.

“I knew I wanted to work in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing field, and this job was the perfect mix of the rigor of pharmaceuticals but also something I am passionate about, which is my animals,” stated Miller.

She enjoys working alongside her coworkers and knowing that her work leads to happy, healthy and clean pets. She states that as a pet owner, she only wants the best for her pet and by working for SynergyLabs she can ensure that customers can feel the same as she does.

“The East Tennessean gave me experience with project management and leading a group of people,” stated Miller. “Having this skill set allows me to have a professional stance in guiding my coworkers and taking on new projects.”

She stated that her time with the publication provided a creative outlet when it came to designing each issue. Miller explained that her experiences in design are essential to her job when it comes to creating new formats for documents or to explore new ideas.
