With a line of different baskets up for auction, the Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi) girls raised money to help the Ronald McDonald House at their 20th annual auction for the charity.

“This is something that is very special to my heart and very close to all of us,” said Tessa Potter, the director of philanthropy chair. “It is giving the kids and people who stay there something to believe in.”

On April 1, at the Venue at the King’s Centre, Alpha Delta Pi, a sorority at ETSU hosted a benefit and silent auction for donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Appalachian. The bidding started at 5 p.m. and lasted until 8 p.m.

There was a check-in table for attendees to purchase tickets or check in. At the venue, there were snacks and drinks with an open bar provided’ Alumni of ADPi were personally invited.

Tickets were $30 and could be bought with cash or card. Pre-order tickets could be bought on ADPi’s social media and PayPal. ADPi also accepted monetary donations. All proceeds went to the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House.

In 1979, ADPi founded their own Ronald McDonald House called the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House. They have helped volunteering by gathering supplies, making meals and other fundraisers. ADPi works once a month with the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House by providing and serving breakfast. Five girls help cook, clean, buy and serve the food.

There was information about the Ronald McDonald House at every table. Scattered around the venue were tables with pop tabs with a significance to the Ronald McDonald House. One pop tab table had the chance to win a $25 gift card if the number of tabs in a jar were guessed correctly. The cost was $1 per guest. There was a card making station as well.
