Auntie Ruth’s is in the process of opening up a new brick-and-mortar location in Johnson City.
On March 24, the popular doughnut company announced on Instagram that a new Johnson City location will be coming soon. Auntie Ruth’s opened its first shop in Limestone in January 2022. The location was so popular it did not take long for the company to realize a second shop was a good idea. Owners Ruth and Roman Kauffman are very excited about this addition.
“As you may know, we opened our first brick-and-mortar shop in Limestone in January of 2022. It’s been a huge hit for the local community, as well as made our life easier not having to move our food trucks from location to location,” said Ruth Kauffman, co-owner of Auntie Ruth’s.
She said this location will be different than the first because it offers dine-in and more space to expand the menu. The new location’s menu will offer up to eight flavors of doughnuts with flavors changing each month to keep up with the seasons.
“We have ideas of what we would like to add to the menu in the future; such as, but not limited to, homemade cinnamon rolls, scones,” said Kauffman. “However, due to concerns of over-extending ourselves, we will start out with only our usual menu of doughnuts, soft pretzels and drinks until we see if we can manage adding more items.”
The location is a big step in expanding Auntie Ruth’s and gives customers a place to sit down and enjoy the delicious menu. After 15 years of service in the food trucks in the area, Auntie Ruth’s is eager to provide this dine-in experience. The shop is expected to open around July 1 of this year.
“We love the idea of having a place where people can come inside, sit down and relax with a cup of coffee, or just come have a chat,” Kauffman concluded. “This is what we like about our new location in JC. We want it to be a restful place. A place where everyone feels free to grab a friend and come stay a while.”
