With music, donuts and fraternities the Buc Block was a wild night to finish Welcome Week.

From 7 to 11 p.m. on Aug. 31, Party Bucs hosted the first-ever Buc Block in collaboration with many fraternities and other school organizations. Students enjoyed an inviting atmosphere that included a variety of musical styles and a live DJ.

Caelan Peterson, Party Bucs founder said, “The goal for this was to bring campus together, to unify campus organizations and to unify students that may not feel involved yet and to build culture and tradition here.”

Part of building a unifying culture at the Buc Block was introducing students to different musical acts, such as Red Hill Bluegrass Band, Christian Newport, Will Hart and Trevin Sluss. This allowed the student body to explore different styles of music together.

The Buc Block also gave students the opportunity to explore their style with amazing and unique clothing vendors. Vendors like SBAVNTG and Vintage Chatt offered trendy apparel and ETSU gear to help students start the year off in style.

In addition to the music and clothes, multiple food trucks were on site, providing all kinds of food, from donuts to hot dogs. Diggy Donuts, Bristol Berry Bowls, and Hound Dogs provided students with delicious snacks and treats outside of the Culp Center Cafeteria.

Buc Block gave students the opportunity to visit different fraternities and discover many ways to get involved at ETSU. Noah Nance, an affiliate of Kappa Sigma said, “It feels great to be a part of it [Buc Block] and be seen by the public. For us, since we’re relatively new, this is nice to get connected and make new friends.”

Party Bucs has big plans for the Buc Block to be a part of kicking off the new school year again next year. They’re out to ‘make college, college again’.
