LOUDON, Tenn. (Sept. 8 – Sept. 10) – ETSU’s golf team traveled down to Knoxville last weekend for the Visit Knoxville Collegiate Golf Tournament hosted by the University of Tennessee. This three-day tournament welcomed 14 colleges from all over the country, playing 18 holes each day.

Day one – Sept. 8

Ole Miss’ Tom Fischer led the pack, going five-under-par to start things off.

ETSU junior Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden) and redshirt freshman Jenson Forrester (Wolverhampton, England) commandeered the Bucs on day one. Both were just 2-under-par and tied for seventh in the field. Mats Ege finished day one tied in 13th, hitting one-under-par.

The Bucs (-5) finished the day in third, beaten only by Mississippi State (-6) and Tennessee (-7).

Day two – Sept. 9

Day two was headlined by an incredible performance from ETSU’s Mats Ege (Kristiansand, Norway). Ege (-3) jumped six spots from days 1 to 2, landing in the top 10.

ETSU’s Matty Dodd-Berry (Wirral, England) and Jenson Forrester both finished day two in the top 20.

The Bucs (-4) dropped one spot in the standings, falling to fourth when jumped by Ole Miss (-6). Tennessee (-22) remained at the top of the standings.

Day three – Sept. 10

ETSU’s Mats Ege (-6) continued to show out as he used day three to climb up another spot, finishing tied for 6th place.

Other Bucs that finished in the top 25 were Remi Chartier (Montreal, Canada) (-1), who finished tied for 17th.

Jenson Forrester (E) finished 21st. Additionally, Algot Kleen (+2) and Matty Dodd-Berry (+2) both placed in 23rd.

Overview:

Individually, Hunter Logan (-11) from Mississippi State took first place, followed by Nick Gabrelcik (-10) of North Florida and Michael La Sasso (-10) of Ole Miss.

As a unit, Tennessee (-25) took first, followed by Ole Miss (-24), Mississippi State (-13) and East Tennessee State (-11).
