ETSU’s Advertising and Promotion class (MKTG 4250), in the fashion marketing and merchandising program, has been hosting an annual fashion show as one of their class projects since 2018, excluding the COVID-19 period.

“The show is open to the public, including ETSU and the local community as well,” Kim Sookhyun, the show’s advisor shared.

At the show there will be an audience styling competition, with prizes for winners, allowing attendees to let their creativity run free.

Sookhyun shared that the fashion show is a great way, “for students to learn soft skills that the industry requires including problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, team playing, organization, creativity and learn how to take care of details.”

Students will be given an opportunity to be both challenged and encouraged in both their creativity and other skills that are needed in every career field, whether fashion-related or not.

The fashion show also presents the public with an opportunity to learn more about ETSU’s fashion marketing and merchandising program.

This program gives students both the product knowledge and merchandising skills needed to go after different careers within the apparel, retailing and textile industries.

Support ETSU’s fashion advertising and merchandising students by coming out to the Gameday Runway Fashion Show! ETSU pride attire is encouraged. A prize for best gameday outfit will be awarded after the show.
