Many ETSU students’ cartoon childhood characters are coming to ETSU-Con.
On Jan. 23 at 11:30 a.m., ETSU-Con’s Instagram announced that Tara Sands will attend ETSU-Con 2024. ETSU-Con is ETSU’s comic convention featuring guest artists, artist panels, gaming tournaments, food trucks, cosplay contests and a vendor hall.
Tara Sands is a voice-over actor with hundreds of credits on IMBD. She was the co-host of Cartoon Network’s Fridays in the early 2000s. She has given her voice to many characters, including Bulbasaur in the “Pokemon” series, Spyler in “I Spy,” Biscuit in “HunterXHunter,” Kombu Infinity in “One Punch Man” and Summer in “Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse.” She has voiced over 250 audiobooks. Her most recent work is with the “4K!DS Flashback” podcast on her Patreon.
On the ETSU-Con Instagram, Sands posted “See you sooooooon!!!” under the comments of her reveal post.
The ETSU-Con Instagram has been teasing Sands’ reveal on their Instagram Stories and will tease other reveals as well. On the same day as ETSU-Con’s reveal, Sands posted on her Instagram and her Instagram Story previewing the event. Tara Sands’ Instagram is @tarasandsvo. She captioned her appearance as “March! Tennessee! Be There!”
ETSU-Con has also announced featured guest, “Chemjamin,” a world-renowned Smash Bros player.
ETSU-Con will be at the ETSU Culp Center from March 23-24, 2024. The Student Government Association sponsored ETSU-Con in getting Sands. ETSU-Con has had previously featured guests including Alejandro Saab, Grey Delise and Kira Buckland.
ETSU students get in free with their student ID. Registration opens for both days, Saturday and Sunday, at 9 a.m. ETSU-Con is still accepting applications for promotional tables and volunteers. They also have the gaming tournament sign-ups available. ETSU-Con is also having a giveaway for a free weekend pass on their Instagram.
ETSU-Con staff includes Aiden Barger, Taylyn Tindall, Alex Harril, Siana Robey, Ally Condon and Crimsyn Price.
