Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., ETSU Buctainment hosted their Free Money Game Show, a free student event.
Buctainment, a student activity programming board on campus, dedicates its time to creating memorable experiences for students at ETSU.
Conner Williamson, an ETSU junior, attended the event with his friends. Sharing his thoughts about the evening, he stated, “I wasn’t sure what to expect or how many people would attend, but it ended up being a cool event to go to.”
At the game show, Buctainment presented a total of two hundred dollars to students who won contests throughout the night. These contests consist of naming the artist of a song, Disney trivia and other trivia games.
Alexis Duncil, an ETSU freshman, also shared her opinion on the evening, “The games ended up being very exhilarating, there was a rush in trying to get the right answer before others did. Some of the trivia rounds were easy, like guessing the correct artist to a song, but some were hard, such as guessing specific TV shows.”
One specific moment from the night included the dance the right dance game. All attendees were allowed to play, and the goal of the game was to be the last one standing. To win, you had to make sure you did this iconic dance correctly. The game ended with a girl knowing the entire choreography to the “Hoedown Throwdown” by Hannah Montana and “We’re All In This Together” from the first High School Musical movie.
“While it was a bummer that I didn’t win any money from the game show, I had tons of fun and am intrigued to see what else Buctainment has in store for ETSU students,” Williamson mentioned.
Some of the next few events that Buctainment will be hosting this spring semester consist of a game night on Feb. 9, Valentine’s Bingo on Feb. 13, and Valentine’s Plants, Painting, and Card Making which is on Feb. 14.
