On Feb. 26, ETSU announced that country singer Riley Green would take the stage for the Student Government Association’s annual spring concert. Special guests Maddie & Tae and Jordy Searcy will also perform on April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City.
Green is recognized for his No. 1 platinum hit, “There Was This Girl,” and his chart-topping collaboration with Thomas Rhett, “Half of Me.” The Academy of Country Music named him the 2020 New Male Artist of the Year. Green’s music is inspired by the sounds of traditional country, bluegrass and Southern gospel.
Maddie & Tae released their first hit in 2013, “Girl In A Country Song” and have continued to make their place as a female duo in country music after winning Group/Duo Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards in 2022 and earning a ninth nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 57th CMA Awards in 2023.
Searcy has only two album releases but is making a name for himself in the pop music industry. Since his career began, he has written over 1,000 songs and has gained popularity through TikTok and Spotify for his songs “Molly” and “Love & War in Your Twenties.”
Starting March 4, students will be able to claim one free ticket using their valid ETSU ID and purchase up to two guest tickets for $10 each. ETSU staff and faculty will be able to purchase up to four tickets at $10 each starting March 18.
Starting April 1, public ticket sales will begin online only for $35 plus tax.
