The Samford Bulldogs beat ETSU 76-69 in the SoCon Championship game to punch their ticket to March Madness.

ETSU came into the SoCon tournament as the No. 7-seed, despite being a 7-seed the Bucs were able to beat VMI, UNCG, and Chattanooga in the route to the Championship game.

The game that sent ETSU to the SoCon title game was an overtime win versus Chattanooga that finished with an 85-84 final score. In this game, ETSU scored 52 points in the second half to get themselves in position to send the game to overtime. This second half resurgence was heavily aided by junior guard Quimari Peterson (Gary, Ind.) who tallied up 27 points, seven rebounds, and one assist in 37 minuets of play.

ETSU secured the win versus UTC when Karon Boyd (Concord, N.C.)  hit a game-winning layup with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Boyd finished the game with three points, eight rebounds, and one assist in 34 minutes of play.

Now Samford heads on to March Madness as a No. 13-seed and they’ll play the No. 4-seed Kansas. The game between the Bulldogs and Jayhawks will take place on March 31 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kansas is coming into this tournament on a bit of a cold streak, going 1-4 in their last five games. Despite the recent Jayhawks struggles, Kansas opens as a -8.5 point favorite (Odds by ESPNBET) to beat the SoCon Champs.
