ETSU’s Multicultural Center, Pride Center and the digital media department hosted a “Come as You Are” student art showcase event.

The event took place Wednesday throughout the whole day allowing students to swing by and look at the pieces anytime. The art was displayed in the Multicultural Center inside of the D.P. Culp Student Center.

“This student art exhibition showcases pieces by students of various cultures, backgrounds and experiences,” Bethanie Dye, coordinator for the pride center, said.

ETSU often showcases art in different forms to expose students to something new. This event gave student artists from different cultures and backgrounds an outlet to display their unique talents.

The Come as You Are art showcase allowed for many different student artists to share their art with the university. Students had the opportunity to submit their work to be displayed as part of the exhibition online.

“Students who were interested in displaying their art at the exhibition were able to submit their work online to be entered in the showcase,” Dye said.

Diversity is part of what makes ETSU’s campus special and having events such as the Come as You Are art show exhibition gives a space to display the beauties of diversity. The Multicultural Center often hosts events that share the diverse nature of the school and spread cultures.

While the Come as You Are event is new to ETSU this year, similar events have taken place and this event will return. The Multicultural Center, Pride Center and digital media department hope to continue to collaborate on unique events to show off unique students and their hard work.

Students who missed the event can find out more by visiting the Multicultural Center on the second floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center or by checking the Multicultural Center and Pride Center social media pages for future events.
