The Devine Era 2.0 is set to begin on Aug. 30 against the Marshall Thundering Heard volleyball team, as returning head coach, Lindsey Devine looks to improve upon her success. After a stint as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Devine is eager to bring new levels of success to the Buccaneer athletic family. With a staggering 292 victories under her belt from 2003-2018 as the Bucs head coach, Devine’s return has the volleyball faithfuls eager to what could be in store for the 2024-25 regular season.

ETSU volleyball is coming off a severely disappointing 6-23 record, a season that desperately called out for better leadership. If it’s not broke, do not fix it, as Lindsey Devine has proven, the winning ways are sure to return to the soon-to-be competing Buccaneer volleyball.

The anticipation for what is to come continues to gain steam, as Buccaneer volleyball, alongside the matchup of Marshall, is paired with two more games against Elon and Davidson in a Wildcat Classic set to take place in Davidson, N.C. over the weekend of Aug. 30 through the 31. The Bucs are set to participate in two more tournament style competitions early on in the season, before starting in conference play at home, against the UNC Greensboro Spartans on Sep. 26.

Depending on the expected turnaround, the Bucs regular season will conclude on Nov. 16, before the beginning of the Southern Conference post season tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Nov. 21 and conclude on the 24.

This new step in direction for the program is sure to meet some early road bumps, as all new, or in this case, returning regimes often do. However, the expectations are becoming higher and higher as the season is right around the corner. Head Coach Devine and staff are elated to change the atmosphere in and outside the locker room, ultimately returning and exceeding goals set forth for this season.
