The Bud Frank Cinema kicks off its fall 2024 programming on Friday, Sept 6 at 7 p.m. showing their first film “I Saw the TV Glow.”

“The Bud Frank Cinema kicks off our fall 2024 programming this Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. We’ll have screenings on the first Friday of every month, as well as several special events. All our screenings this fall are free and open to the public,” stated Chelsea Wessels, associate professor of English.

The Bud Frank Cinema, newly established in 2023, is dedicated to bringing new and diverse films to ETSU and the surrounding community. According to the Bud Frank Cinema website, “The transformation of the Bud Frank Theatre, site of so many performances and productions at ETSU through the years, continues its legacy as a hub for artistic engagement.”

In welcoming back their community, they have much to offer with a few different screenings this semester, starting with a 2024 American psychological horror drama film “I Saw the TV Glow.” The film introduces Owen, a typical teen, trying to make it through suburban life when he is introduced to a myserious late-night TV show. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.
