As the fall semester begins, ETSU women’s triathlon head coach Allie Nicosia has unveiled the Buccaneers’ 2024 fall schedule. This season, the Bucs will face many challenges that will test the determination of the team. The Bucs are preparing for five key events. The first of which, will be the third annual Aquathon that will take place over the Labor Day weekend.

Following the excitement that took place over the long weekend, the team will hit the road for the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon in North Carolina, scheduled for Sept. 15 at 8 a.m. The event will be the first on the road challenge for the Buccaneers, where they will face stiff Southern Conference competition.

The remaining month of September will continue to bring the heat for the Bucs, with the month concluding with the Blue and Gold heading to Chesterfield, Va., for the Robious Landing Triathlon on Sept. 29, another stepping stone for the upcoming season.

Looking ahead, this October, the Bucs will have an opportunity to fine-tune their performance. The East Regional Qualifier at the Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, N.C. will take place on Oct. 12, where the Bucs will have the chance to compete against the nation’s elite.

The Bucs Triathletes season will conclude on November 9 at the National Championship, held at the Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Fla., where the Bucs hope to showcase their strength on a national stage.

Some key athletes to watch this season includes senior, Izi Belogay (Sterling, Va.) Abby Church (Chantilly, Va.), and Sarah Plant (Chandler, Ariz.), who bring experience and leadership to the entire team. Some new, and incoming freshmen talent like Emily Jenkins (Mars Hill, N.C. ) and Julia Visgueiro (Coubron, France) are also expected to make a significant impact.
