The Tri-Cities area is abuzz with excitement as the spring 2025 Broadway season kicks off at the Martin Center of the Arts with “Pretty Woman”.
Presented by the Bank of Tennessee, this season promises to deliver Broadway magic to the community, starting with a captivating opening show.
The season begins with “Pretty Woman: The Musical”, a fresh and modern take on one of Hollywood’s most famous love stories.
With music by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, featuring playwrights Gary Marshall and J.F. Lawton, this audience Choice Award Winner asks audiences one simple question: “Ready to fall in love all over again?”
Sponsored by Dream City, this production offers a heartwarming experience full of nostalgia, excitement and dazzling music.
The decision to begin this season with “Pretty Woman” finds its roots in its ability to evoke cherished memories for many audiences.
“It’s a must-see for fans of the movie and anyone who loves an uplifting story brought to life on stage,” said Sarah Allen, Director of the Sales Department for the Martin Center.
To ensure the seamless execution of this high-profile production, the Martin Center staff has been operating like a well-oiled machine.
Behind the scenes, every element between different departments is carefully orchestrated to excellence, which helps to elevate the quality of productions season after season.
“We’ve learned so much since our first season,” said Allen. “Our technical director, events coordinator, and numerous collaborators work together to deliver an unforgettable experience for both the audience and the performers.”
This dedication to bringing these larger than life stories to life in the Grand Hall all stems from the continuous support received from the community.
The Martin Center’s commitment to making these performances accessible to all ensures that the magic found on Broadway stages is something the entire community can experience.
“These shows bring the same incredible talent, stunning sets, and dazzling costumes you’d see on Broadway,” said Allen. “It’s truly special to have them here in Johnson City.”
