For country music fans on campus, you are in luck if you are free for a concert at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, Feb. 6th. The renowned country band Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives will be coming to the Martin Center with tickets on sale now.
According to the posting on the E-tix website responsible for ticket sales for ETSU events, “Stuart got his start in bluegrass legend Lester Flatts’ band at the tender age of thirteen, and by twenty-one, he was working in the studio and on the road with Johnny Cash.” Not only does he have that amazing experience, but he has also released “more than twenty major studio albums.”
Described as having received “just about every honor the industry could bestow to him,” his music is said to be a sort of blend between country sub-genres and sounds, mixing “jangle and twang” into every song. He will be performing his newest album entitled “Altitude” which can be described as a “cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, misfits and angels, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers.”
The event will be taking place at the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts with doors opening at 6:00 P.M. According to the E-tix website, regarding ticket sales, “Group discounts are available for this performance. A minimum purchase of 10 tickets is required.”
