The beginning of the semester ushers in a new opportunity for students to utilize Grubhub for on-campus dining. New features at select locations are aimed to benefit students’ daily lives.
All campus dining locations will feature Grubhub mobile ordering, except Starbucks. During meal swipe periods, students can use their meal plans at Pepper’s, Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell, shared Kelvin Tarukwasha, general manager of dining services. Dining dollars and IDBUCs are also payment options in the Grubhub app.
“We were looking for a way to provide convenience for students,” said Tarukwasha, “So Grubhub being a leader in the market for this technology, was a natural choice for us.”
Grubhub kiosks are available for ordering at Pepper’s and Chick-fil-A. This enables students to better customize their orders and improves wait times. “Our goal is to expand the Grubhub Kiosk program to additional locations and ensure that all future campus dining locations are integrated with Grubhub Mobile Ordering,” said Tarukwasha.
Tarukwasha believes students will be positively impacted by the new addition. “Students will benefit most from convenience and time savings, order ahead, skip the line, and pick up food quickly between classes or during busy hours,” said Tarukwasha.
Students who use Grubhub regularly may receive special promotions and deals through the app. They can sign up for Grubhub+ Student Membership, which offers free delivery from off campus restaurants. A few restaurants may offer exclusive perks and discounts to those who order often.
The feedback so far on the kiosks has been positive, shared Tarukwasha. “It was a big lift for some students, a new way to place an order,” said Tarukwasha, “we’ve seen those comments go away, and there’s an appreciation of the convenience.”
Students are encouraged to download the Grubhub app and give feedback during this time of change.
