The Buccaneers hit the field April 11 at 7:30 p.m. for the 2025 ETSU Spring Football Game, giving fans a first look at the team’s progress heading into the fall season. With key returners and fresh talent on display, the scrimmage at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium will be full of energy and competitive play.

One of the biggest storylines coming into the season is the quarterback competition. Former Michigan and Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara transferred to ETSU, bringing veteran experience and leadership to the quarterback room.  Jacolby Criswell a dual threat, who previously played at Arkansas and North Carolina,  also joined the Buccaneers, further intensifying the competition under center. Not to mention Jaylen King who just came off of a decent season with the Bucs, now poised with more experience will be in the mix.

With anticipation building, Friday’s game will offer a first look at a team eager to make noise in the Southern Conference this fall. After the spring game, the Bucs will shift their focus to training, refining their skills and conditioning to prepare for the grind of the upcoming season. With intense workouts, ETSU aims to carry momentum from the spring into the fall campaign.

Additionally to get fans pumped up for the season, ETSU football will host a Meet & Greet Youth Day at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium on April 5 at noon. Open to kids in eighth grade or younger, the event features interactive activities with Buccaneer players, including catching passes, kicking field goals, and drill stations.
