The Appalachian Highlands has plenty to do for all ages. From a simple stroll down the Tweetsie Trail to seeing a new traveling Broadway show at ETSU’s Martin Center.

Specifically, there are quite a few options for the youth and adults alike to stay active, all while helping grow a sense of community. Johnson City in particular offers over half a dozen different sports leagues and camps for all ages.

From Flag Football to Soccer Camps, Volleyball and Basketball are all other popular options. Not all sports are offered throughout the year due to the local climate and scheduling. However, rotating sports and camps are offered all Spring and Summer long. With the athletic calendar kicking things off in January with indoor youth and adult Volleyball camps. As the weather improves right before the highly anticipated Summer Vacation, Softball, Tennis, Football and more will all kick off right as the summer months begin to roll in.

In addition to the sports leagues offered, all teams will need Cheerleaders to lead them throughout their on-field and court challenges. Youth Cheerleading will cost $50 for Johnson City Residents, and an additional $10 added for non-residents as a fee to keep these leagues up and running. As the weather improves across our area, these events will have plenty of crossover dates. Even as Football and Soccer overlap, Johnson City is home to more than enough places to house these events for players and fans alike. With many events being held at the Memorial Park Community Center, there is a wonderful opportunity for Bucs and others to enjoy their summer all while remaining active.
