Efforts are still being made in local communities to support affected areas after Hurricane Helene brought immense damage to East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.

ETSU’s College of Business and Technology (CBAT) is stepping up to help the communities by hosting a forum, “Hope After Helene: A Forum on Financing Disaster Recovery,” for attendees to connect with available financing resources. The gathering will bring together social services, emergency aid companies, business aid and many other helpful resources to aid communities and businesses in need.

The forum will take place Friday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Powell Recital Hall in the Martin Center. Tickets can be reserved for free online and the event is open to the public.

Kevin Kilgore, associate director and professor of finance, extends the invitation to all CBAT students. “It’s a good learning opportunity and also it’s an opportunity for them to meet people, to understand how communities work and to get to know those around them,” he said.
