On Sept. 10, ETSU announced Dan Bragg will serve as the new chief executive officer of ETSU Health.

According to a release, Bragg joined the practice Aug. 11 and is equipped with a substantial history of more than 20 years in health care leadership. He has previously served as director of finance for the ETSU practice.

“It is an honor and a privilege to come full circle and serve ETSU Health in this new capacity,” Bragg said in the release. “ETSU Health is a critical resource to our community, providing excellence and access through our academic medicine model. We are proud to offer leading-edge health care in dozens of specialties while training the next generation of health care providers. I look forward to leading the organization to advance ETSU Health’s commitment to serve the underserved and become the practice of choice for our region.”

The release states that Bragg will head the clinical division, which comprises the majority of ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine, including both primary care and specialty practices.

A longtime leader in the health care industry, Bragg has held advancing leadership positions at State of Franklin Healthcare Associates, serving first as chief financial officer, eventually making his way to chief administrative officer.

“I am delighted to welcome Dan Bragg as CEO of our practice,” said Dr. Bill Block, vice president for Clinical Affairs and dean of the Quillen College of Medicine. “Dan’s extensive experience within health care, strategic vision, passion for this region and commitment to excellence made him an ideal candidate to lead us as we strive to serve our community as the practice of choice.”

ETSU Health continues to provide health care services across Northeast Tennessee through primary and specialty care, family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health and various other services.
