On Saturday, Oct. 25, ETSU ended Homecoming week by playing a hard-fought game against Wofford College. Before this game, ETSU had a record of 3-5 and Wofford had a record of 2-5. In a press conference held on Monday, Oct. 20, ETSU Head Coach Will Healy said, “I see a really solid team that has won two in a row now, they’ve started kinda coming to their groove and have some young guys stepping up and it’ll be an awesome test.”

The first quarter started out strong with a 28-yard run scored by Devontae Houston, with a successful extra point kicked by Ewan Johnson, putting the Buccaneers in an early lead. Wofford came back a few minutes later and scored a touchdown of their own, tying up the score. Towards the end of the first quarter, Devontae Houston ran for another touchdown, with another good extra point kick, making the score 7-14 with ETSU in the lead.

The second quarter began slowly with the defense stopping the other team until halfway through, when Wofford scored a field goal, making the score 10-14. The last two quarters moved along with neither team’s offense being able to break through, making these the last points scored in the game. With a score of 10-14, ETSU won their fourth game of the season and grabbed their second SoCon win.

The Buccaneers will be traveling to Birmingham, Alabama to play against their next SoCon opponent, the Samford Bulldogs. Kickoff will be on November 8 at 3:30 p.m. You can watch the game online at ESPN+.
