On Saturday, Nov. 4, the ETSU men’s soccer team played their final regular-season game against VMI. This game determined which seed ETSU was going into the 2025 SoCon Tournament with. After an untimely defeat by the Keydets, the Bucs are going into this year’s tournament as the fourth seed.
The team is going into this tournament with a record of 2-8-4, with their two wins being against fellow SoCon rivals, UNC Greensboro and Wofford. After being the runner-up in last year’s tournament losing to Furman, the Buccaneers are prepared to go all of the way this year and claim the win.
On Friday, Nov. 7, the Buccaneers will make their way to Greenville, South Carolina to play against Wofford once again in the first round of the SoCon Championship. After beating the Terriers recently with a score of 4-2, the game is sure to be a heated one with both teams fighting for a chance to advance to the semi-finals.
If the ETSU men’s soccer team pulls another win from Wofford, they will play Furman in the semi-finals on Sunday, Nov. 9. With Furman being the number one seed, that match will determine the strongest team in the SoCon this year. Then, if the Buccaneers win their semi-final game, they will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 15, and potentially be crowned the winner for the 2025 SoCon men’s soccer season.
