On Saturday, Feb. 14, the ETSU men’s basketball team once again faced off against Samford. However, unlike last time, this game came to an unfortunate loss for the Bucs with a final score of 82-71 in overtime.

Despite the loss, the team played hard . The Bucs kept the game close with a first half score of 38-37. ETSU managed to then pull their team up in the second half and forced the game into overtime.

With Brian Taylor II scoring 28 points throughout the game, he also managed to go 3/7 for 3-point shots. The guys managed to hold their own as they tied the game 12 times, following 13 different lead changes throughout.

Despite their defeat bringing the team to an 11-3 record, the ETSU Men’s Basketball team still sits at No. 1 in the Southern Conference. The Bucs have two tough SoCon games up next: Feb. 18 at Furman and Feb. 21 at UNC Greensboro.
