Have you ever noticed how some people say more with their facial expressions than they ever do with their mouths?
Anyone whose taken a speech communication class knows that you can tell a lot about a person based on their facial expressions.
Facial gestures can communicate information on their own.
Have you ever wondered what a person means by a particular expression? Or why people communicate nonverbally more than verbally?
Jonathan Roberts, a behavioral patterns specialist, discusses unique communication skills that are associated with an individual’s communication style and emotional outlook as they relate to facial structures.
Roberts will be presenting “Being Ourselves,” on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at noon. It will be held in the East Tennessee Room in the Culp University Center.
Roberts is the owner of Character Evolution here in Johnson City. If you would like to learn about facial behaviors the seminar is free.
For more information contact Harriet Masters, director of ETSU’s Women’s Resource Center, at 439-7847.
It will be a great experience for everyone and the skills learned will be helpful for everyday life.
