STATESBORO, GA. — Tony Mitchell scored a career-high 21 points to lead the College of Charleston to an 84-79 SoCon win over Georgia Southern Saturday.
Mitchell scored 11 of his points in a decisive 22-6 run that gave the Cougars a 57-44 lead seven minutes into the second half.
The sophomore guard connected on three of his six 3-pointers during the spurt, which erased a Georgia Southern 38-35 halftime lead.
Georgia Southern (11-8, 4-4) attempted a comeback over the final 12 minutes, cutting its deficit to six on several occasions, only to have the Cougars immediately stretch its advantage back to double-digits.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Karim Souchu scored 23 points and keyed a late second-half rally to propel Furman over VMI.
With Furman (9-14, 3-6 SoCon) trailing 51-46 with just under five minutes to go, Souchu, an All-Southern Conference forward from Paris, France, converted a 3-pointer, two layups and a pair of free throws for nine points in a 10-0 run to give the Paladins a lead they would never relinquish.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — James Maye scored 26 points and Josh Gross added 16 off the bench as the Spartans held off the Terriers.
Mike Lenzly scored a career-high 32 points, including 26 in the second-half, as Wofford (8-10, 4-4 SoCon) rallied in the second-half.
UNCG (6-14, 2-6 SoCon) grabbed its largest lead of the game, 63-48, with 10:54 remaining, but Lenzly would not let the Terriers go down quietly. Lenzly scored 11 straight and 16 of the next 22 Wofford points.

BOONE, N.C. — Chris McFarland scored a game-high 16 points, and added three steals and two blocked shots to lead the Mountaineers to a win over the Bulldogs.
Appalachian stays perfect at 10-0 in the Holmes Center this season, and 4-0 at home in SoCon play.
