Cullen named SoCon freshman of the week
Redshirt freshman linebacker Mike Cullen was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Week. On Saturday’s matchup against Western Carolina, Cullen had 20 tackles. He is just two tackles shy of the school record which is held by Nakia Thomas, who had 22 tackles in 1993 against Appalachian State. Cullen leads the Bucs with 57 tackles and also leads the conference in total tackles. Tiller to play in I-AA All-Star Classic
Defensive back Tony Tiller has been selected to the inaugural I-AA College Football All-Star Classic. The game will be played in the evening on Dec. 30. This season, Tiller has had 15 tackles, one tackle for a loss, two interceptions, five passes broken up, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He intercepted two passes and broke up another against Western Carolina on Saturday.

Buc volleyball loses to Western Carolina
The Bucs volleyball team lost Tuesday to Western Carolina, 30-17, 30-24, 28-30, 30-22. Kate Steidle led the Bucs with 13 kills on 42 attacks. Karen Freeburg picked up 15 digs and Lissa Allen had five blocks and three aces.
