Dear Editor,
Currently, I am enrolled in the Appalachian studies class at ETSU.
I was able to participate and represent ETSU in the 2003/2004 Appalachian teaching project “Building a Sustainable Future for Appalachian Communities.”
My presentation is on nature parks. This was hosted by the Appalachian-Regional Commission.
Anne B. Pope, federal co-chair for the ARC attended. She is a delightful individual and I thank her for her support. Pope was appointed to head the Appalachian-Regional Commission by President George W. Bush and confirmed but the Senate on Nov. 18, 2002,
Eleven colleges participated in this event.
I want to also thank my professor Dr. Ted Olsen for allowing me the opportunity to participate.
