Drew,March is not the best time of the year for sports.
The best month of the year to be a sports fan is clearly October.
First of all, you have the World Series in baseball.
Also, you have the end of the NASCAR season, not to mention the NFL and College Football are going on too.
For you to say that March is the best time of the year for sports is just crazy. Besides the NCAA tournament what else does March have to offer a sports fan?
You’ve got the NBA and no one cares about that. You also have the NHL which is about to go bankrupt.
You also have the beginning of the NASCAR season, but that really doesn’t matter because the biggest race at the of the year (the Daytona 500) is in February.
I think you’re just on this whole March kick just because it is March and you didn’t think about it before you made your claim.
So think about October.

October is a good month for sports, but not a great one.
Yes it does have the World Series, pro football and college football, but it does not have the excitement of a tournament.
The only strong case you make is about college football because although October is not bowl season, college football has a playoff atmosphere all season long.
I can see where you are coming from because all of these sports are very popular during October, but there is something about 65 teams playing for one championship.
You can say all you want about the other sports like the NBA and the NHL, but I think even without those sports, March still surpasses October as the most exciting month for sports.
About the NHL going bankrupt, it might be going down the tubes, but teams still fight for playoff positions during March and this is an exciting time for the sport.
And as for the NBA, March is the month where team who are close to making the playoffs can either get it together and finish the regular season strong or fold and watch the playoffs from their living rooms.
As for NASCAR, it is popular year around.
The bottom line is if you’re a NASCAR fan, you’re going to watch the race on Sunday no matter what time of year it is.
