The article regarding Dan Rather in the recent edition of the East Tennessean was offensive to me as an educated person.
Larry French stated that a reporter has “the obligation of making the public fully aware that what is printed is an editorial opinion and nothing more.”
I found no such label on this particular hypocrite’s editorial, though it was his opinion which I read.
Cursing famed anchormen Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite, French ignored his own “insidious slant of the news.”
French made it clear that he favored George W. in the upcoming election by cursing Sen. Kerry and Michael Moore, and excusing Bush’s hasty action by saying Bush was “duped by the CIA into believing that Iraq still had weapons of mass destruction.”
Is this a joke?
Could anyone really believe that our country’s foreign intelligence would lie to the president to spark a pointless war?
There is no evidence to support this opinion, by experts or anyone.
How is it that a man can say reporters should “report the news and the facts – period,” and do something completely opposite when writing his own “article.”
French using his position “as a launching pad” to “sway public opinion” is exactly what he claims to loathe.
Wake up French, we’re not all idiots.
