The ETSU Bucs got a new look Wednesday when the athletic department unveiled Bucs web site.
The new look of www.etsubucs.com has a new blue background with dcor that represents the mascot of East Tennessee State University.
“I am very pleased with the improvements to our web site because it will allow our fans to get new information about our teams and access new features to involve them in our programs,” ETSU Director of Athletics Dave Mullins said.
The opening page has links to Southern Conference and NCAA sites and the newest updates on Bucs sports, a sports calendar. It will soon have sites to buy tickets and Bucs merchandise.
The calendar will be also be available on all the team’s pages, allowing fans to keep track of which team is playing on a certain date.
A new link allows viewers to listen to live Bucs’ action on the Mountain States Health Alliance Buccaneer Sports Network.
The new opening page also allows viewers to choose from the men’s and women’s list of teams and click on their team. The team’s web sites are directed toward getting fans closer to the action and the athletes.
Updated rosters should be posted soon.
Another new feature to the web site will be a mailing list where fans are able to enter their name and e-mail to receive up-to-date information about the Bucs teams.
“A heritage of 80 years” is a look back on ETSU football and the tradition that it held from 1920-2004.
Mullins is also hoping that the site will soon be home to Bucs merchandise and the sale of tickets.
“The interactive features will allow our fans to do things like order tickets and merchandise they’ve not yet had available before,” Mullins said.
The update is welcomed by the athletic department, “We get tremendous use of our web site already; this should just increase interest in accessing it,” Mullins said.
