Lunch no longer has to be an afterthought for students. In between classes, a simple phone call can all but take care of lunch.
Aramark began advertising a “to-go” program for its dining services on campus, said Chris Arthur, director of dining services at ETSU. Over 500 fliers were distributed last week, advertising the locations and numbers of each restaurant. The fliers also contained buy-one-get-one free coupons for certain restaurants. Students have already begun to cash in on the coupons, Arthur said.
The program makes it available for students to call-in a food order to be picked up without the wait.
“It has always been available,” Arthur said. “We just want to make students realize our food can be to-go.” All students have to do is call, pick-up the to-go box at the main counter and pay. The to-go method can be used at each dining establishment except for Main Meal, which is a buffet, all-you-can-eat set-up.
Aramark has been with ETSU for almost 13 years. Aramark controls several brand-name fast-food restaurants on campus, such as Quizno’s and Burger King. Aramark also runs several company concept restaurants, including ETSU’s newest addition, Izzi’s Southwest.
