Dear Editor,
A political argument never has any winners.
People get into these discussions for one of two reasons. The first is to try to change the other individual’s mind, which isn’t going to happen. The second is simply to down the other person’s party, which only adds fuel to the fire.
I must add, by the way, that the most hostile political slop-slinging that I have observed has come from liberals.
Just look at all the bumper stickers on the back of many cars with liberal owners.
There are usually no less than five half-faded stickers that say things the owner thinks are earth shatteringly cute and catchy that are supposed to express their feelings and views.
Then, look at the stickers you see on the cars of Republican owners. You might see one sticker, if any, that quietly and tactfully states the persons side.
Its not that the Republicans have less support for their party than liberals do, they just don’t feel that there is any need to look like an idiot.
They will show their support with their vote.
