Dear Editor,
There are several facts that show how our country seems to repeat its past mistakes. One fact in particular is Bill Clinton getting rid of the Glass-Stegall Act during his administration.
The Glass-Stegall Act was created by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933 to divide commercial banks from investment banks. This act helped our country come out of the Great Depression. In the late 1990s, Clinton decided the Glass-Stegall Act was no longer as important, so he ended it. Not long after this decision, the stock market went bad once again.
We can learn so much from the past.
