Dear Editor,
This is directed at Ralph Bandy, who wrote one of the most ridiculously ignorant and hypocritical letters I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
First of all, I don’t know if he has looked at the bumper stickers of cars on campus, but the majority of them are pro-Bush. I know they are not “earth shatteringly cute,” but I find nothing more obnoxious than three or four giant bold “W’s” pledging one’s allegiance to our current president. I have not seen hardly any of these bumper stickers with quips on them in support of Kerry that are spoke of with such disdain.
I guess this means one thing, Bandy is participating in the “hostile political slop-slinging” that he bashes liberals for in such an ungraceful manner. People like Bandy are the reason why political discussions usually get so out of hand and end up in childish name calling and cause people like me to write letters that point out how stupid some people are but end up committing the same offense as these above mentioned stupid people.
Conservatives/Republicans are always the first to condemn something, but act like they are morally above said act while actually committing that act. It is ridiculous for anyone to say both parties are guilty of mud slinging, but it’s the fault of the liberals and they do it in an unclassy way. It’s this holier than thou, we’re going to attack you while pretending to be above such petty methods crap that I see mostly from Republicans (although both parties are guilty of it).
By writing the letter that he did, Bandy has done nothing more than enter a political discussion “simply to down the other person’s party, which only adds fuel to the fire.”
There is nothing that goes more hand-in-hand with politics than seeing hypocrisy in its finest form.
Colin Spaulding
