The East Tennessee women’s volleyball team traveled to Chattanooga Saturday to play the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. After being down by two games at the break, UTC rallied and beat the Bucs 3-2.
The Bucs won the first two games 23-30, 29-31 at Maclellan Gym. Although the Bucs put up a fight, they could not hold onto the lead as UTC dominated the last three games, 30-16, 31-29, 16-14.
Chattanooga had four players reach duble-digit kills, headed by Leslee Ball who had 15, Kelly Ramsey with 13, Lindsey Galloway with 12, and Amanda Durfee with 10. Dominique Mayor, with 33 digs, had a big defensive night.
The Lady Bucs were led by Sara Scandiffio who had 19 kills along with Jennifer Sartor who had 16 kills. Karen Freeburg had 24 digs, leading the ETSU defense, with Sartor also contributing 22 digs.
This win improves UTC to 7-19, 4-10 in Socon play while the Bucs fall to 4-22, 3-10 in Socon play.
ETSU returns to action Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. against Appy State.
