Dear Editor,
I was shocked and disappointed to learn of a recent Ku Klux Klan meeting near Erwin, Tenn. I did not even know that they still existed much less that they were holding a meeting 10 minutes from my house.
The KKK first appeared in 1915 and you would think by now that we would have gotten over the idea that whites are the superior race. They do not only discriminate against blacks, but Jews, Catholics and basically everyone who is not “white.”
Is this not the same idea that Adolf Hitler had during World War II – to create one superior race?
The people who are involved in this organization based on hate are the ones who are inferior. There was never an appropriate time for racial prejudice to start, but now is the perfect time to put an end to it.
