Tennis
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced that East Tennessee State University sophomore Oscar Posada ranked 33 in its Division I Men’s Tennis National Singles Rankings.
Posada broke into the national rankings earlier in the 2004-05 athletic year with a preseason ranking of 105.
He went on to have a strong fall performance, compiling a 10-4 singles record.
During this period, Posada became the first Buccaneer to compete in the main draw of an ITA national tournament since Gustavo Gomez in 2000 when he won three qualifying matches to advance to the main draw of the ITA Icy/Hot ITA All-American Tournament.
In the main draw, Posada won his first match against No. 14 Alex Slovic from the University of Washington but then fell to No. 60 John Isner.
