Dear Editor,
I am so glad that I decided to attend the performance of Celtic Air on Friday evening, Feb. 18 at the Ball Hall auditorium.
They are a marvelous group of talented artists and I felt honored to witness their performance.
They played to a packed house, and shared their energy and mastery with an enthusiastic audience.
The seven member band consisted of four fiddlers, Stephanie, Catherine (fellow ETSU students), Jane and Myra. William played folk guitar and the bagpipes. Chris accompanied on drums and Jason backed them up on the base guitar.
It was impressive to see such talent and experience in these young artists.
The music was a lively mix of waltzes, reels, jigs and Celtic Air’s own fusion blends. Tunes like “Lachleeman Castle” and “Catharsis,” their title cut from their latest CD, brought rousing applause.
This is a band to watch!
The evening ended appropriately with a spontaneous standing ovation.
I hope to enjoy their talents again at the Kingsport Renaissance on March 18 at 7 p.m.
Kudos to Celtic Air.
