Dear Editor,
The East Tennessean has scored a home run with Josh Chambers and his pithy commentary. Even if you strip away the rhetoric and dogma, the remaining four words of his column are concise and grammatically correct.
It is good to know that some of our up-and-coming college students are able to string more than two words together in a manner that makes sense.
I used to get very upset by the manner with which liberals attacked the president and Republican Congress, but I have come to realize that this is all they can do. After all, Social Security still has nearly 37 years of solvency left, so fixing the problems with it now would be a waste of time, not to mention political capital.
As for Iraq, chemical and biological weapons have been found there, just not in the copious amounts expected.
One failing of the Bush administration is not explaining to people that the reason we invaded Iraq was because we could not verify the existence or absence of such weapons due to Saddam Hussein’s malfeasance with the impotent UN.
As far as the issue of homosexuality, if liberals want to spend 90 percent of their effort mobilizing 3 percent of the population, I say knock yourselves out; it is just going to hasten the demise of a once grand, honorable and legitimate political party.
Too bad it is now filled with wingnuts like Michael Moore and headed by the governor of YeeHawVille. I can’t wait to see the fireworks of self-destruction.
