Head 2 Toe, by popular demand, will hold a second shopping day
Head 2 Toe, the organization devoted to enhancing the self-image of teen girls by providing gowns, accessories and personalized services in a retail setting at low cost, has added a second day of shopping opportunities.
On March 4, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., teens are invited to go to Girls Inc., 227 Library Lane (off East Market Street, behind Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church).
Girls who might otherwise find attending the prom beyond their reach can purchase a formal dress for $20 and shoes and accessories for $5 or less.
Proceeds from the sale are donated to Girls Inc.
Visitors will also be able to register for prom-related door prizes donated by Illusions Nail Salon, Roddy’s Florist, Mary Kay products and Poor Richards. Winners need not be present at the 1 p.m. drawing to receive their gifts.
The first Head 2 Toe shopping day dressed 40 girls for their proms and raised $1,040 for Girls Inc.
Because there were numerous calls from families and schools, this second shopping day was organized by students in East Tennessee State University’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, the Tennessee Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the ETSU Women’s Resource Center.
