Upperclassmen in education and social work will have the chance to meet potential employers this month, thanks to Career Placement and Internship Services, the College of Education and Department of Social Work. Co-sponsors to the Education Job Opportunities Day to be held today, from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
On March 22, from 8 a.m.-noon, CPIS and the Department of Social Work will be co-sponsoring a Social Work Career Fair in recognition of National Social Work Month. Both events are free and will be held in the ballroom on the third floor of the Culp Center.
“Students should attend to communicate with prospective employers about the positions open, distribute resumes and do basic interviewing,” said Dan Emmel, director of CPIS.
Although everyone is welcome, Emmel said that the career fairs are geared toward juniors and seniors.
Students who attend either event will have the opportunity to talk to company representatives to find out what employers are looking for in their potential employees.
All employers who attend the Education Job Opportunities Day and Social Work Career Fair come to ETSU because they have open jobs they want to promote, Emmel said.

Emmel said he expects the Education Job Opportunities Day to attract about 145 students and the Social Work Career Fair to attract approximately 75 students.
