The ETSU men’s tennis team continued their winning streak as they defeated conference opponent Lipscomb, 7-0 and Belmont, 6-1. The Bucs are now 14-5 on the year while the Bisons fall to 1-9 with the loss and the Bruins fall to 1-5.
In the first match of the day the Buccaneers claimed the doubles point with wins in all three positions.
In the No. 1 position Oscar Posada and Juan Crosa defeated Mike Sherman and Andrew Harris, 8-3 while Enrique Olivares and Sebastian Serrano defeated Colten Jones and David Carrillo, 8-3 in the No. 2 slot.
In the No. 3 position Lisandro Picardo and Matt Stanley defeated Jeff West and Andy Mizell, 8-3.
The Bucs dominated the Bisons of Lipscomb in singles play, winning all six matches, five coming in straight sets.
In No. 1 singles, Olivares defeated Sherman, 6-0, 6-1, while Posada defeated Harris, 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 2 position.
In the No. 3 slot, Picardo defeated Jones, 6-0, 6-1. Serrano defeated David Carrillo, 6-3, 4-6, 10-4, in the No. 4 position.
In the No. 5 position Crosa defeated West, 6-0, 6-2, while Stanley defeated Daniel Carrillo, 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 position.
In the second match against Belmont, the Bucs dominated in doubles action again two of the three positions.
In the No. 1 position Oscar Posada and Juan Crosa defeated Fausto Rocha and Javier Rodriguez, 8-5, while Olivares and Serrano defeated Felipe Lima and Felipe Abreu, 8-2 in the No. 2 position.
In No. 3 doubles Picardo and Stanley were defeated by Ignacio Gesto and Alex Gillott after a hard fought match, 8-7 (5).
In singles play Lima defeated Posada, 6-4, 6-3, while Felix Insaurralde defeated Rocha, 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 2 position.
In No. 3 singles Olivares defeated Gillott, 6-1, 6-2 and Crosa defeated Gesto in the No. 4 position.
Picardo defeated Rodriguez, 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 5 position while Serrano defeated Abreu in the No. 6 slot.
