Dear Editor,
It is great that the library is trying to find a way to become more group study friendly, but I think they may be going in the wrong direction.
The addition of group tables is not the best solution to the problem. Studying among the first floor stacks on Wednesday morning, I was very much disturbed by a loud couple quizzing each other for a test. While it is great these two take their coursework seriously, their disrespect for others studying in the library at the same time is sad.
The addition of group tables will only makes this worse. Group study rooms are what the library needs more of. If there were more group study rooms, then those who needed peace to do research, homework or study would not be disturbed by loud groups.
The addition of study rooms would make the library a better study place for all involved. Until then, if a study group feels the need to be loud, they need to do it somewhere else.
