Dear Editor,
Earlier today, a friend asked me if I had read the article on “The Well” in the Sept. 28 issue of the East Tennessean. I said no and she handed me a copy and told me to read it. I was very upset when I read this article.
The purpose of The Well is to reach non-believers and feed believers. Through my three years at ETSU, I have made more Christian friends than I had in my entire life. When I moved up here from home, I didn’t know anyone! I had no friends that came to school here and I was looking to find good Christian friends.
I was soon introduced to the Well and began attending. I have now been involved for three years and The Well is like my second family.
I am very sorry that you had a bad experience, but just because one person or even 10 people had a bad experience why would you want to ruin it for the one or 10 that could have a good experience!
I understand that you were just letting your feelings out, but now someone who is all alone, wanting to find somewhere to fit in won’t take that chance because we got one bad review.
I love the Well and I truly believe that I have personally grown as not only a Christian but as a person while attending and learning!
Again, I am very sorry that you had a bad experience and there is nothing anyone can do to change that but I hope that you will think about the well being of others before you turn them off to something so wonderful again.
A Caring Christian,
Lynnsey Hill
