Dear Editor,
I’m just writing in response to the letters written back about the article “Not Feeling Too Well”. I don’t understand why people should be so offended by the remarks made. I think that Dallas made some valid points. And those involved with the Well should pause and consider them. For instance, is the Well becoming so focused on outreach that their message has become watered down?
The fact that a dissonant post on the message board was removed makes me suspect that perhaps there’s too much focus being made on looking good and attracting new members than there is on ministry. If there are so many people involved in this ministry, I think the question always needs to be asked, are those involved in the Well growing closer to Christ and being conformed to His image? Are they learning to live lives of servitude that denies themselves and glorifies Christ, even if that means sacrificing everything they hold dear?
The cost of following Christ is not cheap and it’s not always attractive. (Luke 14:26-27) I’m a Christian too, I’ve only been to one of the Well meetings, and I’m not trying to attack this ministry. I think it’s doing a lot of good. I’m just pointing out some thoughts that Dallas’ article brought to mind. And I think that the reaction to the article should not be so defensive, but should be looked at as a challenge to make the ministry even better!
