The ETSU volleyball squad pushed its Atlantic Sun Conference best record to 5-0 Saturday afternoon with a three-game sweep of Kennesaw State.
It is the Lady Bucs ninth consecutive win and 12th in their last 13 matches.
“I’m very pleased that we worked so well together as a team today,” said head coach Lindsey Devine. “We really came together and set our sights on finishing in three.”
The Lady Bucs (18-5, 5-0) controlled the match from the opening game, hitting .444 in the opening game, on their way to a season-high .350 hitting percentage for the match.
Junior Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was perfect in game one, hammering four kills in four attempts en route to a match-high 14 kills, as ETSU rolled to a 30-22 opening game victory.
Game two yielded more of the same, as Kiselich added five more kills in just six attempts, while senior Jennifer Sartor and freshman Marissa Mortensen chipped in three kills apiece in a 30-24 win.
The Lady Bucs completed the sweep with a 30-18 game three victory.
Kiselich nailed five more kills, closely followed by Sartor’s four and senior Crystal Palmer with four as well.
Senior Nani Emerson also added three kills in the final frame, giving her four for the match to go along with her match-high 43 assists.
A tough game awaits the Bucs as conference co-leader Belmont comes to Brooks Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Lipscomb Saturday at 2 p.m. If successful, the Bucs will run their streak to 11 games.
